I am a scientist and a consultant devoted to scientific research, technology development, technology transfer, and teaching. I am the Principal Investigator of The Unconventional Computing Lab and a Professor of Computer Science at Tecnológico de Monterrey. Additionally, I am an Associate Editor of Quantum Information Processing, a member of the Quantum Economy Network of the World Economic Forum, and Distinguished Speaker of the Association for Computing Machinery.

My work is aimed at understanding all scientific and societal aspects of computation as well as contributing towards the economic development of modern society based on science and technology. I conduct research on quantum algorithms and quantum cybersecurity. I am a cofounder of the field Quantum Image Processing and founder of Quantum Computing in Mexico.

I am a strong supporter of the application of science and technology on the creation of wealth. Thus, I have worked as a consultant for both private and public sectors since 1999. I have delivered consultancy services (training, business development, and follow-up) to companies and governments in Mexico, UK, USA, Peru, and Colombia on computer science, computer engineering, information technologies for business and government, industry-academia liaisons, technology transfer, softlanding, and education for small and medium size companies.
